For my opinion, the originality has already being challenged not just by the internet, but it is even being challenged by the human.
Let's go back to the year around 19th century, when the modern art was born. During that year, there is already few artist/painter has started to imitate some other artist art style/artwork. Lets take a simple example, Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli, he is a talented painter who contributed substantially to the distribution of the late style of the creator for 'Mona Lisa' piainting, Leonardo Da Vinci. Giovanni has copied numerous masterpiece by Leonardo, as well as leaving behind numerous capable original composition of his own.
Giovanni famous artwork:-
The is still a few more famous painter artwork being reproduced over the past years
Even a well known painter, Pablo Picasso once said
"A good artist copy, a great artist steal"- Pablo PicassoIt means that if you want to have an artwork like that one person, it's either you steal it and present it before he does or don't do anything so that you can be the only person that has that artwork. In that case you will have the originality of that artwork. Don't ever copy it from him and present it after that, that isn't a professional way to produce an artwork. So by this, it's proven that ORIGINALITY has already being challenged way before the Internet was invented. Ever since technology was introduced, originality is becoming harder and harder to find, especially when there is INTERNET.
Usually we will think that this kind of thing is only happened
caused by the irresponsible society, but the truth is, even the industry people
plagiarist some of other artist work. For an example, there is this Bollywood
movie called ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ that is famous for imitating a scene from a
famous Hollywood movie called ‘The Matrix’. Surprisingly, they imitate the
entire scene exactly the same as in the movie Matrix. Even the choreograph and
the background of the scene are exactly the same.
Here is a short scene from the movie ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’
This kind of issues doesn't only happen in the movie industry, it also occurred in many other industries such as the Music, IT, Branding and many more.
